Take your time when day trading

This might sound strange, but when we day trade we should take our time to see that all our conditions are met. If taking time to verify a setup implies that we'll be too late to enter a trade, then just don't get in and don't bother about it. Don't enter the trade impulsively. There will be plenty of other opportunities in the future.

This is also what John Bogle said. And John Bogle could know it: he was the founder of the Vanguard Group and created the first index fund. Even though he was mainly preaching long-term patience over short-term action, this quote also works for day traders.

Time is your friend, impulse is your enemy.

John C. Bogle
